RESEARCH CENTER @IIITB
Welcome to our website!
The IT sector has played a
significant part in the Indian economic growth --- India
is at a leadership position with a share of 55 percent in
the global marker for IT sourcing. IT is becoming a
general purpose technology with its use permeating into
individual and social life.
According to the recently released UN Millennium
Development Goals 2015 report, India continues to be
categorized as making slow progress on most of the health
and nutrition related indicators including maternal
mortality, infant mortality and basic sanitation.
We, at the E-Health Research Centre (EHRC) @ IIITB,
seek to address this incongruity through cutting-edge
research on the use of information and communication
technologies for meeting the healthcare needs of the
under-served and marginal population groups in India and
similar regions across the world, with a focus on
affordability, accessibility and availability of
technology solutions covering [medical] devices, [health]
data, and delivery [platforms and models].
Currently we are actively reaching out to various
organizations, government and private, for partnerships
