About EHRC

The E-Health Research Center (EHRC) @ IIIT-B is an interdisciplinary Research Center that spreads across all areas of research interests in the institute towards doing applied research in the use of Information & Communication Technologies (ICTs) to meet the healthcare needs of the under-served and marginal population groups in India and similar regions across the world, with an objective of improving affordability, accessibility and availability of technology solutions covering [medical] devices, [health] data, and delivery [platforms and models]. Current focus areas are mental health, malnutrition and disabilities.

EHRC Vision Vision

A Centre of Excellence in Applied Research on E-Health With growing faculty strength across multidisciplinary research domains, EHRC envisions to be a center of excellence which will focus on applied research in target areas in the e-health domain, aligned with the expertise and interests of the IIIT-B Faculty; build long-term partnerships with other stakeholders across sectors; and establish IIIT-B as a leading research institution in leveraging ICT for healthcare in India.

EHRC MissionMission

Improving ICT Solutions for Large-scale Healthcare Concerns of India and other Underserved Regions Affordability, Accessibility, and Availability of medical care and services are the major concerns in India. To address them, EHRC conducts applied research on Device, Data (generation,management, processing), and Delivery (services), with a goal of larger impact on, not only technologies of healthcare, but also health-related policies and capacity-building.
