A group of research students and staff associated with CITAPP and EHRC, led by Prof. Amit Prakash, conducted an ethnomethodological study to understand the extent and nature of waiting time and experience of new patients and their attendants during registration and other activities at the screening block of NIMHANS. This study fed into a larger project that looked at the possibilities of implementing ICT systems in the screening block for better management of patient-doctor interactions. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) also collaborated on this project.
The researchers conducted observations and interviews at the screening block during 15th-19th April 2016. A summary of the study and the findings is available here. These were presented at various meetings with the stakeholders in NIMHANS.
